This week learning the Berimbolo technique I really had to focus on getting used to staying on my neck as well as making the technique flow together. This took about 2-4 hours to understand this coordination. This technique can be learned at home individually when you have free time. I hope I broke everything down enough in order for the average person to understand the technique.
What is the success rate of the Berimbolo in competition?
This question is kind of hard to narrow down. I found statistics on a competitor named Guilherme Mendes. He is one of the top competitors in the world. In the world Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championships he swept his opponents 8 times. Out of the 8 times 7 of the sweeps were Berimbolo techniques. The success rate for the technique depends on the competitor and how proficient they are at the technique.
What are some of the modifications to the technique that needed to made?
I didn't have to make any modifications personally. I was able to follow the steps efficiently from all of the research I gathered from professionals showing the technique to hours and hours of watching the footage broken down from tournaments.
